It had been quite a while since Mayo AC did not have a finisher in the top three of a Road Race League. This happened last Saturday in the fifth race in Mayo AC's 2009 Road Race League, sponsored by C & C Cellular, which took place in sunny conditions over a recognised testing course at Claremorris. The eighth DeCare International sponsored road race and walk started and finished in Main Street.

The Mayo Cancer Support Association will receive a cheque for over €2,000 which was raised through Aramark Ireland’s inaugural Charity Cupcake Campaign. James Kilbane and guests will take his country gospel, Irish, and Christmas concert to the Castlecourt Hotel, Westport on Sunday night January 3 at 8pm. As part of his winter run of concerts James Kilbane is back with his show at the Castlecourt Hotel, following several sell out shows across the country as well as television appearances on RTE and EWTN television networks at home and abroad.

Mayo Cancer Support Association provides emotional support and practical help for people living with cancer, their families and friends. Now in its 10th year the demand for the services is increasing and the range of services on offer is developing to meet the needs of people whose lives have been affected by cancer. The drop in centre offers a professional counselling service, a drop in listening service information, aromatherapy, massage, reflexology, and relaxation techniques. All services are free of charge and are also available to family members or friends.

All services provided by Mayo Cancer Support Association are free of charge including all of the workshops listed below.
